Broadway Belts 4 Bucks

This past weekend, DoubleTake was asked to cater a kick starter event! Held at Lit Lounge in the East Village, the event was hosted by Michigan alumni in their efforts to fund a new stage production of “The Man With American Skin”. Broadway Performers (almost all of them alumni of Michigan as well) came out to sing karaoke for the event, singing the song with the highest bid for their name.

So, what was DoubleTake’s role in all of this? They were asked to make delectable desserts in good ol’ maize and blue! There was a suggested donation for oreo truffles and cake pops galore, and all of the proceeds went to fund the new show! DoubleTake was very proud to have been asked to participate, and everyone enjoyed the sugar rush! Mike Kelton had to pull his guests away from the dessert table and to the karaoke stage by convincing them that they would develop diabetes. “These cake pops… are MY LIFE!” The majority of guests implored DoubleTake to take their talents in the baking world and make it into a business. We do it all, so why not?
